Hmmmm....

Have you ever had a feather pillow or blanket? Have you ever noticed how these things, over time, start to smell slightly of ancient farts?

Now...since I was riding the metro when I thought of that, I wish I knew where it came from. If I figure it out, maybe they won't put me in the looney bin quite yet.

Actually, depending on the the sort of neighborhood served, I'd think there was likely an immediate (and sitting close by) reason why the thought of farts might come up. . .

I don't even have one-it was a scent memory (grendel was right :D) from a pillow my house family had in Russia.

Can you wash feathers?

The geese certainly get them wet. . . So maybe, unless it's chicken feathers. Never known a chicken to wash. Which is because their hydrophobic. One might say. . . chicken?

No, really, I'm not sure you can wash feather pillows. That's why people usually put slipcovers on them, so they won't need washing...I thought...

What did the family do, sit on them when they weren't sleeping?

Ah-okay :D

Nope, and in fact it may have been just that the feathers were processed less harshly (to clean them) before the pillows were stuffed. I feel like this hasn't only happened over there.

Sheesh. It was just a joke.
