Also On the Dresses...

As of now, most of the people in the bridal party have received their outfits for the wedding. Everyone is either extremely pleased and has made it clear, or still somewhat mortified by my choice of gown/doublet and have been very good at lying to me. (okay, I know at least one person would take the option to switch to a tux if I let them...)

I am very impressed. Witches Closet Creations (see link on the right) is made up of a pair of ladies in Washington State who make and sell clothes and other sundries by mail order. That being said, they managed to fit just about everybody just about perfectly from...oh...between 1500 and 3000 miles away. Nice. And they did it for a price I'm still not sure I believe, especially considering what other similar frims charge For The Same Bloody Thing But Less Well Made.

Cheers, and Kudos to you, Liz and Laura!

What are you, Norse?

In this area you're more likely to see love knots and Maypoles :D

Heathen. :) The Scandinavians are a subset of that. They Norse and Viking stuff just happens to be the best written record, but the same mythology is present all over Europe.

Maypoles. Ah yes. The dirtiest festival still in common performance. :)

Gotta love ceremonies where full grown adults dance and sing and wrap a huge erect phallic symbol in suggestively colored ribbons!

I'd pay real money to see them do that with the Washington Monument :D

Hmm. I'm going to have a tough time, though, attaching the ribbons to the top of the thing (the monument! I mean the monument!)

Maybe some sort of Batman-esque ribbon gun. . .

Naw, you just commission Air FOrce 2 to hover while a Secret Service guy rappels down and attaches them, and then lifts off, allowing them to dramatically unroll to the waiting participants below.

Best thing they would have gotten a chance to do for the last 7 1/2 years.
